Light Beam Antenna & Apparatus, LLC was founded in 2010 by Wayne Freiert. The company was born out of a need to find a way to pursue the hobby of Amateur Radio without upsetting the neighbors, his XYL, or running afoul of antenna restrictions within the community.

Wayne (WB2LYL) has been a Ham Radio operator since the early 1960s, and currently holds an Amateur Extra Class license. After earning his B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Wayne gained more than 35 years of experience in electronic product design, quality assurance, and new product development. During this time he began designing and building high frequency antennas.

After retiring from his position as Vice President of Operations and Engineering, he pursued the antenna craft more vigorously, designing and developing the Light Beam Antenna system in 2008.
